Can’t even unzip files… less then 3 megs of text files took over 10 minutes… install 7-zip, less then a second.

Oops.

For a few days I was trying to figure out why I wasn’t getting any new email. Generally there’s at least something from one of the lists I’m on but for bit nothing. Then while going to my website to grab an image I discovered that my domain registration had lapsed. Oops. Guess that happens when you register for 5 years and then change email addresses.. you kinda miss the notice and forget about it. Well all is good again. The holding page even had a handy link for me to click on to renew my registration.

Yah for instant gratification.

Trying out the new mobile blogging setup.

I was having a few issues trying some new things so I finally broke down and upgraded to WP 2.3. And guess what. It all works better now.

Well it’s only been a year since the last post. No time at all eh?

Learned a bit more about configuring linux servers so got the gallery processing back operational so more up to date photos of the kiddo will follow shortly.

Also a bit of a test to the Facebook blog update utility.

Yeeha! So the new web server is finally up and running. You’ll notice a faster response from all the web pages. Basically I now have my own new dedicated box. So now I have to go and explore my new toy and start setting things up right again. There were a few issues during the porting of the old data from the old server so we might have lost a few things but nothing critical.

Course this means now I can start updating baby images again and working on some new forums.

Apparently I am now the proud owner of tickets to the Bare Naked Ladies concert here on Febuary 1st, 2007. And by tickets I mean a private booth. And by that I mean I get to take 14 of my closest friends to the concert where they supply food and drink for the evening.
